Wow, so I havenapos;t posted in awhile...what can I say? Things have been pretty darn busy...especially this past week when our ACEsupervisor was in town and doing our formal observations - mine went pretty well, so all the hard work and organization so far paid off, I suppose. My kids were either still recovering from Fall Break or were just being extra good for some unknown reason ;).
Oh, yes - fall break - good timesIt was sooooo relaxing Well, I did do quitea bit of work over the break, but for the most part it was pretty nice. On the Friday I was all alone at home because Cisco was out of town and my other housemates were at school. I spent my morning at First Watch (yay fresh fruit crepes) and at Barnes and Noble. Then, I relaxed at home, going pretty much stir crazy until some form of life returned to the house woo hoo
The weather was super nice (highs in the mid-70s), and I went for a nice run on Saturday - probably about 12 miles. On my route home, I witnessed an accident - one car was stopped at a light and another car came screeching to a halt behind it, but not before completely dislocating its bumper and sending it shooting forward past the intersection. Wow, you donapos;t see that every day. I donapos;t remember what else I did that day, but we took a girls trip to Target and watched "Atonement" - which was actually kind of a downer. :( Next morning wewent to the early Mass, then we watched "August Rush" - that was pretty good - music by far the best part. And Kelsey and I went grocery shopping.
Monday was lesson planning day (with a little extra effort for our supervisor), so it was pretty stressful. Tuesday was a long day by far. My supervisor was there to observe 2 periods and read aloud, and then we had our post-observation meeting during my planning period. Lunch period was mostly spent with the students, and then the afternoon went on pretty uneventfully. I spent the afternoon working at school, waiting around until Family Rosary Night. Quite unexpectedly, our supervisor took us out to dinner near school before getting dinner to bring the the rest of the ACEhouse back home. How nice Then, it was back to school for rosary night, which went surprisingly wellThe students were so cute, and looked adorable all dressed up. I was in charge of the music, so I sang a little bit, and I also signed "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman." All the families seemed to have a reflective and beautiful experience
Well, amidst all the observations, you can imagine our house was quite stressful - thank goodness for Thursday afternoon and post-observations I went to bed early most evenings, having lesson planned for the week on Sunday. Boy, gotta love those 7-8 hour nights Last night I was ready to go out with my fellow housemates, but I had just made myself ill from eating candy corn before going for a light jog at the gym. Goodness, I felt awful I went to bed early with a stomachache - I felt so bad because everyone was super excited about going out and I didnapos;t want to miss out on house fun, but I would have been much worse if I had gone along. I suppose I made the right choice - sadness.
Up relatively early today - and first thing I did was call Marisa to check in on her marathon status - she rocked it Sooooo proud Then,Julia and I cleaned the patio area and pulled some weeds. Then, I went to a sports bar with Pat and Helene to watch the Michigan State game- pitiful (although USF won convincingly) - but it was fun regardless. Then did some work for my ACE course and uploaded it to be graded. Then, we were gonna try the State Fair...well, we got there, but could find no parking. We finally realized where we could park, when they closed the gate right before we were going to pull in (literally). Well, we might try again tomorrow, although I may have to pass because I have LOTSof lesson planning to do. Sadness.
Well, the night was fun regardless. A game of Taboo to start, and then we did Apples to Apples. Good times and lots of laughs. Now weapos;re watching some tv and probably turning in early. Long run for me tomorrow - Ihope - if I can get out before the sun and heat And weapos;ll have church in the morning too. So much to do tomorrow - yikes And I really did want to go to the State Fair - darn it
